I created a piece that embodies and weaves in the timeless qualities of our ancient land, natural materials, and the age-old crafts associated with wool.
Drawing attention to the illusion of timelessness between our artistic subjects, the objects we create, and their influence on our contemporary future.

Excellence in Craft NI sector 2024
My initial objective was to explore my passion for symbiotic relationships in nature and create a hollow form that showcased the transitional connection between my ceramic and textile backgrounds. I wanted to illustrate the reactive aspect of my inspiration and process through a three-dimensional form. To visually emphasise the mutually beneficial interaction, I deliberately chose a black-and-white fibre palette and used reactive techniques such as wet felting, needle felting, and weaving to construct the form.
